Meet Rachael Cohen

Rachel Cohen, MSW, LCSW

I am a fully Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in North Carolina.  I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and my Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee.

I am formally trained in EMDR, and enjoy using cognitive-behavioral approaches, mindfulness strategies, attachment-based therapy, strengths-based therapy, and other evidence-based practices.

I have been fortunate to work in a variety of settings including as an instructor in Social Work at North Carolina State University and the University of Tennessee College of Social Work. After taking off time to care for my family, I resumed my career as a clinician in a group psychotherapy practice that provides both therapy and medication management.  My life experiences shape my work as a therapist and reinforce the importance of taking a holistic, whole-person approach to work with my clients.  I am a lifelong learner and am grateful to be able to connect with so many people, perspectives, and ideas!

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and our dog.  I love various forms of movement, yoga, cooking, tennis, travel, hiking, planting vegetables and sewing. I hope one day to become a better gardener and ditch my brown thumb!  I am also an active volunteer at various community organizations.
